The Pune Half Marathon is set to return with its third edition announced for November 27, 2022 and registrations have started to heat up.

This year, the event also declared a cash prize of around Rs 28 lakh, compared to Rs 21 lakh in the second edition, to be won in all of its racing categories.
After a two-year hiatus induced by the pandemic, Pune’s flagship long distance running event is returning and race organizers have announced a prize of Rs 10 lakh for national records in the half marathon category, for men and women. .
The Pune Half Marathon is mainly made up of four categories including Half Marathon (21.1km), 10km running, 5km running and 3km running (family and fun).
Vikas Singh, CEO of APG Running and Fitpage, said: “We are extremely pleased to announce the return of the Half Marathon. We promise our attendees, volunteers and spectators that their two-year wait will be worth it with a top-notch experience this year. Additionally, for the first time ever, we are introducing the fitpage app, a technology-focused platform focused on endurance, for attendees. This will ensure that participants understand their current fitness level better and start training using the methods best suited to each individual. We are convinced that the third edition is destined for great success.

The first edition of the half marathon registered over 15,000 registrations and the second, organized in 2019, saw the participation of over 20,000 running enthusiasts. Kenyan Janet Cherobon-Bawcom, champion of the Boston half marathon in 2011, was the brand ambassador during the second edition.
