PUMA renews its partnership with Los Angeles designer Rhuigi Villaseñor for a special and limited edition collection.
From the West Coast, Rhuigi looks across the country to the melting pot of New York City, a cultural hotbed where music and style have been forged over decades.
Fusing past, present and future, Rhuigi celebrates PUMA’s place in global culture with this new collection that pays special tribute to the five boroughs.
PUMA and Rhuigi have teamed up to celebrate the style codes of New York City. The collection includes a faux leather puffer jacket and the iconic PUMA Suede.
With an eye to reinterpreting American classics, Rhuigi added varsity-style appliqués and patches to the quilt to create a common thread around New York City, the city that never sleeps.
The accompanying PUMA Suede comes in black premium leather, with textured details like an embossed reptile on the heel and the year ‘1991’ in gold.
The collection’s campaign features real New Yorkers who show the world the beauty and individuality of New York City as only a local can experience it: Liv (@tylivbonaparte), an artist who can even dribble two balls at once, Yang Xiao Di, a Chinese champion juggler who has performed with the Big Apple Circus and the National Circus Project; and Jared Crawford (@choclattjared), drummer, industrial percussionist and composer.
Rhuigi Villaseñor is the founder of clothing brand RHUDE, a brand that fuses American iconography with nostalgic cultural references to provide a unique commentary on the city of Los Angeles. Villaseñor has made a name for himself with his reinterpreted classics that draw on Americana, music and street style.
