A resident in Banten became a suspect of monkeypox or monkeypox. This news was conveyed and confirmed by the Pulo Merak Health Center through the Instagram account @puskesmas.pulomerak.
In a statement from the health center, the suspected monkeypox patient was examined by the medical team on Monday (8/8/2022). The samples taken were blood and fluid from the lesions on the patient’s body.

The patient is suspected of having monkeypox because it is said to have experienced several symptoms, namely headaches, muscle pain, back pain and complaints that are almost similar to smallpox. Until now, there has been no further information regarding the news of the suspected monkeypox patient in Pulomerak, Banten Province.
Regarding this news, the Head of the Monkeypox Task Force of the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) Dr. Hanny Nilasari admitted that he did not know yet. They are still investigating the possibility of this finding.
