50 percent of the Friday and combination tickets have already sold out: presales for Pukkelpop 2024 are going very fast. Many accommodation and campsites in the area are also already fully booked.
“We are overwhelmed. It seems that the desire for Pukkelpop 2024 is high. Very high.” Pukkelpop ticket sales started on Saturday at 11 am, and they are going fast. In just an hour, 30 percent of the combination tickets had already been sold out. In the meantime, the counter for Friday and combination tickets is already at 50 percent. “It is going very fast, we did not immediately see that coming,” says spokesperson Frederik Luyten.
Not only are tickets selling fast, but accommodations in the area are also being flooded with requests for the midweek from August 15 to 18. This is evident from a survey by The Importance of Limburg. Those who would rather not stay at the campsites of the festival itself, but are still looking for a campsite, hotel or B&B in Hasselt or Zonhoven, are in many cases already too late. “Our campsite has been fully booked for two weeks,” says Anton Bijnens from Camping Heidestrand in Zonhoven, a fifteen-minute bike ride from Kiewit. “We have a lot of regular customers, but this year it was full faster than other years. They are usually groups of three, four or five tents. Sometimes they also come with the camper.”
Bookings are also coming in quickly at Camping Holsteenbron in Zonhoven. “We receive a lot of questions, but we are a rest campsite,” says Els Daniëls. “We try to filter that people who want to continue partying at night do not book here. They are certainly welcome if they want peace and quiet and a good night’s sleep, but we do not allow large groups of friends. Other years, applications do not arrive until the Easter holidays. Now they are much earlier. 30 percent of the questions we now receive are already for Pukkelpop. Our safari tent and rental are already full from last year.”
The B&Bs in the area are also extremely popular with the Pukkelpoppers. For example, Casa Roman – located 3 kilometers from the festival grounds – is always fully booked a year in advance.
The hotels in Hasselt are also popular during Pukkelpop. “We have always been fully booked, ever since the new date was announced,” says Lotte Ghyssen of Hostel H. “I think that is the case for many hotels in Hasselt. We see the same guests every year.”
