Pukkelpop. Joji’s slow R&B pop ballads were pathetic and repetitive • Steve Lacy is audibly a newcomer to mainstream pop

The Pukkelpop meadow is ready to receive festival goers for the next four days. The site was slightly modified this year. For example, the Boilerroom has been given a new look. “It is a bit smaller than usual, but we have put two small tents there,” says spokesperson Frederik Luyten. “In this way we create a little more openness to turn it into a dance temple again. In its total capacity, this will not make much difference and it can still accommodate between 12 and 15,000 people.”

Also new to the site is the E-rena, a podium with “three days of gaming, talks, esports, podcasts, AI experiments, Chat GPT and e-music”.

It looks like it’s going to be a warm and sunny edition. The organization provides nebulizers on site and will offer sun cream.

The first festival-goers are expected at Hasselt station on Thursday morning, where they will be taken to the campsites and festival zone by bus from De Lijn. Until Sunday there are performances by Billie Eilish, Yungblud, Years & Years, Angèle, Anne-Marie, Limp Bizkit, The Killers, Florence + The Machine and dozens of other artists on the eight different stages.
