Tragedy appeared this Saturday morning around 6:55 am in a bar in Puget-Ville, in the Var. A 34-year-old man fatally shot another man in the chest – he is not the suspect’s uncle, as we first reported.
A few minutes later, the suspect stabbed his grandfather in the shoulder, BFM Toulon Var learned, confirming information from France Blue Provence. The retired player was quickly transported to a hospital in Toulon and his vital prognosis is no longer in danger.
A married man and father of two children
The first victim, aged 51, is married and the father of two children. He was well known in the community. He was the deputy head of the SDIS 83 emergency center and a caretaker at the Sainte-Musse hospital in Toulon.
Despite his mental state, the suspect was arrested and then taken into police custody. A criminal investigation was opened and handed over to the Hyères investigative group. All downtown businesses pulled their curtains out of respect for the victim.
