Puertollano: An interesting exhibition to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Parish of San Antonio

An exhibition divided into two locations, the parish church itself and the parish center, shows visitors since last weekend the little darling owned by the Parish of San Antonio de Padova de Puertollano, which is immersed in the celebration of its 50th Anniversary.

The exhibition offers religious objects and vestments, some of which have a marked historical and even sentimental character, such as the silver chalice with which the first priest Don Juan celebrated his first mass in 1952 or the chasuble worn by the Bishop of the Diocese Don Juan Hervas. during the inaugural mass of the church and of which only the medallion is preserved. There are also chalices, monstrances, missals in Latin and Spanish, reliquaries, rosaries, epaulettes, chasubles and other liturgical vestments, as well as images depicting St. Joseph and the Virgin, from the late 1800s and donated to the parish by Don Juan.

Tradition, faith, culture, devotion and art come together in this exhibition which will remain open until next Saturday. Visiting hours are from six to eight in the afternoon both in the parish and in the parish center. This initiative that opens the doors of the Church to citizens is one of the many carried out by the Cinquantenaire Commission chaired by the current parish priest, Don Alfonso Morejudo.

It was, therefore, a chain of both religious and cultural events, since there was no lack of songs, concerts, conferences and theater. The exhibition is therefore a further milestone of this activity of the Parish, committed throughout this year 2022 to give content to its 50 years of existence.
