Representatives of the Department of Rural Affairs conducted crime prevention patrols in the town of Puerto Vilelas, around 2 in the morning they established checkpoints on a local road towards Soto Island.
There they delayed the journey of a Fiat Palio car in which two men, aged 66 and 25, were travelling. When they checked inside, they found that the trunk was carrying two halves of a beef carcass and a head. They had no documentation and were not transported with established biosecurity measures. For this reason, they went on to capture 80 kilos of meat.
The Country and Environmental Prosecutor’s Office intervened, and both were ordered in the case of Alleged Rustling.
