Puerto San Antonio receives 772 ships so far this year

So far this year, a total of 772 ships have called at the Port of San Antonio thanks to the joint work between all concessioned terminals that, despite the pandemic, have maintained operational continuity.

According to statistics from the San Antonio Port Company, The three months that received the most attention were January with 93, March with 86 and May with 80.

Regarding detail, in October, San Antonio Terminal Internacional (STI) received 22 container ships and in the cabotage it worked with three container ships, a liquid bulk ship and four fuel ships (rancheras).

DP World San Antonio had 15 container ship attentions, two of solid bulk and one of general cargo. In addition, it received eight car carriers and that same month, in cabotage, two container ships were counted, two of liquid bulk and three station wagons.

The Manager of Public Affairs of the port company, Carlos Mondaca, He commented that “the logistics process for landfalls is specified thanks to the joint work between the concessioned terminals and the performance of the port workers, always in a safe and efficient way for a good transfer of goods. Many of these products are food, vehicles and household appliances ”.

Mondaca concluded that “the coordination of all the actors in the logistics chain is key to maintaining the competitiveness of the port of San Antonio, which is the one that transfers the most cargo in Chile.”

Regarding the operations of Puerto Panul and QC Policarpo Toro (Site 9), the terminals closed October with ten solid bulk ships served and four liquid bulk ships respectively.
