Puerto Rico registers 64 other positive cases of coronavirus that already total 1,371

Puerto Rico registered this Sunday another 64 unique positive cases of COVID-19, so the number of infected people rose to 1,371, confirmed the Health Department.

Meanwhile, the agency added one death to the total of fatalities from the disease on the island that reaches 84.

The most recent victim of the virus is an 83-year-old man who lived in the Caguas region..

According to Salud, the Demographic Registry did not report additional deaths due to a breakdown in the information systems, so those deaths will be reported “in the coming days.”

A press release from the agency detailed that 51 of the 64 new positive cases were processed through serological tests and 13 through molecular tests.

As for the municipalities with the highest incidence of cases, San Juan continues to dominate the list with 234, followed by Bayamón and Guaynabo with 86, respectively.

The new reported data maintains that 75 of the 78 towns on the island have cases of coronavirus. However, these statistics do not include information on 100 patients who do not yet have an assigned town.

A similar picture is reflected in the total number of positive cases by region that dominates the Metro region with 449, Bayamón with 268 and Mayagüez with 176.

Meanwhile, the age range of 50 to 59 years continues to be the one with the highest incidence with 282 infected people, followed by the 40-49 age group with 251.
