Puerto Rico reached this Saturday the figure of 100 positive cases of coronavirus COVID-19 adding 21 new results, reported the Department of Health.

The Public Health Laboratory reported 10 positive results, 10 private laboratories and one Veterans Hospital. Meanwhile, cases were announced for the first time in the towns of Dorado, Gurabo, Lajas, Toa Alta and Vega Baja.

“These 100 cases show us how exponential the coronavirus is. As anticipated by the epidemiology team of the Task Force, over the next few days we should see an increase in positive cases of COVID-19 on the island “, Dr. Segundo Rodríguez Quilinchini, coordinator of the medical task force, said in a press release.

The group of positives processed in the Public Health Laboratory is made up of four men of 56, 45, 60 and 70 years; as well as six women with ages of 53, 43, 61, 55, 83 and 76.

In contrast, the results of eight women aged 69, 42, 20, 32, 40, 68, 53 and 20 were processed in private laboratories, together with two men aged 80 and 21. The positive of the Veterans Hospital corresponds to a 52-year-old man.

As of today, 1,631 COVID-19 tests have been performed, with 739 of these refusals and 792 results are expected.
