Puebla is present at New York fashion week

The famous and important fashion week took place from 9 to 15 in New York City, in which brands from all over the world presented their designs for the fall-winter 2023 season.

Puebla sounded in style, thanks to the participation of the Illi brand, and the MM México Moda platform. The latter, was given the task of bringing together different Mexican brands from the fashion industry, to have participation in the official agenda of NYFW and seeks to take them soon to the most important fashion weeks in the world, such as Paris, Tokyo , Vancouver and, of course, New York.

The first collective on the platform, made up of renowned brands such as Jasive, Elisheva and Constance, Cuadra and Illi. Claudia Montesinos was the inspiration for the collection that was presented at this fashion week named: Liberación, by Jasive Fernández; not only because of her work as a businesswoman, but also because of her recent success as a writer with the work Free your wings.

Montesinos served as the inspiration for the collection and later as a sponsor of the MM Mexico Moda platform. The Illi brand, by designer Illiana Lorey, also stood out on the catwalk. Six years ago, Illiana launched her brand of bags made and inspired by Puebla, the Puebla of Los Angeles. With it, the designer seeks to convey her admiration for these mythological beings in charge of protecting us.

This brand draws not only from the city of Puebla, but from the entire country, which is why it makes use of raw materials, color, culture and everything that makes Mexico unique. In addition, each bag is made locally, in a workshop in the city of Puebla, with national and international skins and in an artisanal way.

“My inspiration is angels and I hope that all the people who consume my brand always leave their protected homes and are handed by an angel through one of my bags” -Illiana Lorey, director of Illi MX

The parade in which both poblanas participated took place at the City Point Brooklyn Cultural Center. This was attended by personalities of great importance, such as the Mexican consul in New York, Jorge Islas, Zaira Zepeda, president of the Mexican Association of Women Heads of Companies (AMMJE), and the influencers Mexicans María Mena, Norby Lagarejo and Mónica Almada.

Thus, Puebla was recognized as a benchmark for national fashion; a city where top quality products and designs are made, as is the case in other entities of the country.
