Thanks to the timely alert from neighbors, Carabineros de Tenencia Pinto rescued Pudú who was injured and alone in the vicinity of a residential sector in the Vegas de Saldías sector.
The police personnel went to the place with the information provided, and verified the presence of the animal, which showed clear signs of being bitten by other animals, for which it was rescued and transferred to the police station.
“It is a protected animal, a species in a vulnerable state, in danger of extinction, and that lives precisely in the foothills. As soon as we were warned of his presence, we arrived at the place to verify his state of health and arrange the corresponding professional assistance”, explained Captain Luis Jara, Ronda Officer.
Indeed, the Pudú was taken to the Tenure for its first care and protection, and later, it was delivered to the professionals of the SAG Ñuble, for its review, treatment and release into its habitat.
