– We call it an unintentional miss, and now withdraw the circulation and will make changes to the book, says publisher Birgit Skaldehaug in Cappelen Damm Akademisk to Our country.
In the new textbook “Religions and everyday pluralism in kindergarten”, only six sentences about Judaism are reproduced. These, in turn, have attracted attention and are now the reason why the entire circulation is being withdrawn.
In a reader post in the newspaper, author Jacob Holm-Lupo writes that the six sentences belong more in anti-Jewish propaganda than in religious studies.
– We have seen that the formulations that have been referred to in the reader post, and which we have also discovered ourselves, do not present Judaism in a way that we want it to be presented in a textbook, says Skaldehaug and adds that the authors are informed.
In the new edition, they will look at the entire description of Judaism and its place in the book.
