Municipality – time:
– THE firefighters were dispatched for an intervention in the town of Aubigny-les-Clouzeaux.
A 10h55.
Object – According to the emergency services, it was:
– an accident involving a heavy goods vehicle transporting logs.
The truck hit the pillar of a bridge and lay on its side on the A87 motorway in the direction of Angers / La Roche-sur-Yon.
The crane was ejected and the load (logs) spilled onto all the traffic lanes.
The accident generated up to 5 km of traffic jam between Angers and La Roche-sur-Yon and 2 km between La Roche-sur-Yon and Angers.
The highway had to be closed in both directions, with diversions and a load shedding procedure.
Human losses :
– 2 men, 41 years old, 8 years old (child) in relative emergency, were transported to the Clinique Saint-Charles.
– 1 man, aged 42, was able to be left behind after a health check.
Diligent on the spot:
– 6 machines from Sdis Vendée, as well as the National Gendarmerie, and the services of Vinci.
As well as the prefectural and elected municipal authorities.
