Lectures: 130

Within the framework of the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Military Coup, LOM editions has just published the graphic novel “Historias Clandestinas”.

This graphic novel, written by Ariel Rojas Lizana, who was in charge of the illustrations, and by Sol Rojas Lizana, recounts the childhood of children who had to live in a safe house where a couple resistant to the dictatorship lived for many years. soldier who was obsessively sought by the secret police of Pinochet’s civic-military dictatorship.

The family that housed this couple was very committed to the resistance.

This graphic novel, through beautiful black and white illustrations, accounts for the daily activities of this family and the state of fin they lived in and the risks they faced every day, while trying to lead a “normal” life, in a completely abnormal society.

With simple and concise language, the story is reconstructed from the memory of those who were children at the time, revealing the dense and dangerous social and political climate, which gives greater relief to the courage, dedication and love of those who took the decision to resist, despite everything.

The presentation of the book will be a conversation with the authors of the book and with its protagonists, next Friday, April 21 at 7:00 p.m. in the LOM Ediciones auditorium (Concha y Toro 29, Santiago).

Along with Ariel and Sol Lizana will be Hernán Aguiló, Pilar Achurra, Andrés Pascal, Nela Santana and José María González.
