From poverty to social protection: history and heritage. Blends offered to Yannick Marec

The volume offers a scientific and friendly tribute to Yannick Marec by about twenty professors, colleagues through these Blends, bear witness to the topicality of the research dedicated to the themes and heuristic approaches of this distinguished specialist in the history of poverty, social protection policies and the Social Republic. These rich contributions are part of a social – in the strict sense of the term – or political history and lay the foundations for a renewed approach to the history of the social, solidarity economy and cultural history through still unknown themes around heritage and science.

President of the Scientific Council of the French Society for the History of Hospitals, Vice-President of the Scientific Council of the Committee on the History of Social Security, Yannick Marec he chairs the Norman Committee for the History of Social Security and was named, in 2022, Knight of the National Order of Merit. He has published and directed several personal and collective works on forms of solidarity and the management of health and social protection problems. On 17 October a ceremony was held at the University of Rouen in his honor, crowning a rich academic and human career studded with prizes and awards.

They are history lecturers, professors, researchers associated with GRHIS (History Research Group of the University of Rouen Normandy). Anthony Kitts has as research topics, among others, the history of poverty, marginality, representations and hospitals; Ludivina Bantigny, Political commitments and historical awareness in the twentieth century^And century ; Pascal Dupuysatirical European imagery surrounding the Revolution and its impact in Britain; Holiday Oliverthe field of economic and social history of the contemporary age (XX^And-XXI^And centuries), finally, the search for Jean-Yves Fretigne are located at the crossroads of political, cultural and ideological history with, as a privileged research country, Italy of the 19th^And and 20^And centuries. The latter has been the interim director of PURH since September 2022.
