The national director of Invias, Juan Esteban Gil, made official the resumption of works for the construction of 27 km of road of the San Francisco – Mocoa bypassof the total of the 44 kilometers that this route has.
The work is reactivated after eight years of abandonment of the project that was left with half structures by contractors who had been assigned the execution.

The San Francisco – Mocoa bypass project is planned to offer a safe communication axis for freight vehicles and will reduce travel times by 50% (1.5 hours) through the corridor. In addition, it will generate 3,175 jobs for people in the region.
The national government announced that it will invest $1.2 billion in the project of the variant that will impact 1.9 million inhabitants of the departments of Nariño and Putumayo.
