The other day I visited an acquaintance in Västanfors and we saw people trotting on the walking path from Malmvägen even though it is forbidden.
When we shouted to a gentleman that you mustn’t go there, we got the answer “Well then, the municipality can put up signs then”. Then he went on with his dog.

To be sure of what applies, I went to the website of the Swedish Agricultural Agency and read that you may not go outside an established road and a road is if it is intended for car traffic, for example covered with materials such as asphalt or gravel, or if it leads to a residence.
“A forest road that you could drive on, but which is not intended to be used for car traffic, is not a paved road. If you are going to use such roads, you must apply for a dispensation from the Swedish Agency for Agriculture,” it says.
This means that it is forbidden to walk the loop between Allévägen and the thermal garage at Sjövägen, but many people ignore it because there are no signs there. It’s just like with the Corona pandemic, it’s always those who don’t care about anything but themselves.
But he was right that it is very poorly signposted in Fagersta. In Norberg, the municipality has taken this much more seriously.
