Public tours are again allowed in the Federal Palace | Switzerland

SWITZERLAND [NEWS SERVICE] ⋅ In the course of the opening steps, visitors are now allowed to return to the parliament building in Bern. From next week, there will again be public tours in limited group sizes.

(dpo / sat) Last autumn, the public tours of the Federal Palace were suspended due to the protective measures. Now they can take place again from next week, as the administrative delegation of the Federal Council announced on Friday. The groups are limited to 15 people. The reason for the further opening of the parliament building is the recent general easing steps and the ongoing vaccination campaign.

In addition to the guided tours, a reduced number of visitors will also be able to follow the political events from the grandstands during the summer session from May 31 to June 18. Reservations can be made online from next week. In contrast, the administrative delegation is for the time being foregoing any further easing.

A good year ago, all guided tours in the Federal Palace were canceled for the first time. Visitors were also excluded in the first corona wave, then in the provisional council chamber in the Expo halls on the outskirts of Bern, and in the parliament building over the winter. There are also strict access restrictions for media workers in the Federal Palace and in the media center in Bern.
