The. Should arrive in the next few hours new Dpcm of the Government, which could lead to new regulations for sport in order to try to contain the spread of Covid-19 and bring down the contagion curve. This new Dpcm will be signed tomorrow and will hit, quite certainly, all contact sports at all amateur levels: according to what emerges from a first draft of the decree only top sporting events at national level would be allowed and all regional championships should be suspended. In football it would be played in Serie A, B, C and D; in basketball the national championships of A, A2, B for men and A1 and A2 for women. Among the new measures there would also be the return to closed doors in sports facilities: the thousand fans granted in Serie A and pro tournaments will no longer be there in the coming weeks. Until a few weeks ago there was a fear of an increase in the entrance of spectators in stadiums and arenas but now the situation has worsened and we will return to the measures taken previously.
Closure for gyms and swimming pools. The Minister of Sport, Vincenzo Spadafora, a few days ago he managed to snatch some time from the pressure of scientists and the Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza, who wanted to stop the activities already in the dpcm which was signed earlier this week. Closures are not so much about the risk of contact during business or in places as an attempt to keep people at home as much as possible, with the only exceptions of school and work. If these innovations present in the draft were to be respected, a new stop period will open for many activities, both basic and amateur. The world of sport is holding its breath waiting for the new government regulations.
