Mainz (dpa/lrs) – On Tuesday (February 14) there will initially be three regional strike events in Worms, Landau and Pirmasens, before all employees are expected to attend meetings in Ludwigshafen and Kaiserslautern on Wednesday (February 15). Due to the warning strikes, Knoll expects daycare centers to be closed and restrictions in many other areas of public service. In hospitals, only emergency operations should take place on these days and operations that are not urgently needed should be postponed.
Already on Wednesday, after a disappointing start to negotiations in the collective bargaining dispute in the public sector, the union had called on all employees to stop working in a statement. In the forthcoming collective bargaining round, Verdi is demanding 10.5 percent more salary for federal and local employees, but at least 500 euros more per month for a period of twelve months. The next round of collective bargaining is scheduled for February 22nd and 23rd in Potsdam.
