Public Prosecution Service increases reward for golden tip about assassin who fled from Suriname

Justice in the Netherlands has doubled the reward for the golden tip that leads to Gerel Palm’s whereabouts of 15,000 to 30,000 euros. The Antillean Dutchman Palm has been on the National Investigation List since June 2017 and was last in Suriname where he escaped from prison.

According to the NOS Palm is linked to the criminal group around Ridouan Taghi and is suspected of liquidation. He also seems to have had close contact with Feno D., one of the suspects in the trial of members of motorcycle club Caloh Wagoh.

The Dutch magazine Panorama reports that Palm was arrested in Suriname on March 1, 2017 and detained in the Penitentiary Institution Duisburglaan in Paramaribo. He has not been detained for two weeks if he manages to escape.

Panaroma writes about this that she learned from a tipster how it went: a legal assistant entered the prison armed, which is sometimes permitted in Suriname. He then deposited the firearm on the toilet where Gerel Palm – who suddenly also had to go to the toilet – picked it up again. Then he managed to disarm the watch commander and run away to a waiting car.

The tipster Panorama writes that Palm never did his best to hide in Suriname. He went out, he danced, he partied. He received help from people who wanted to give him “a new chance” after a long period of detention in the Netherlands.

On Tuesday evening, it was announced in Opsporing Verzocht that the Public Prosecution Service is offering EUR 30,000 for the golden tip that could lead to Palm’s whereabouts.

The Rotterdam police have now received seven tips De Telegraaf reports.
