The number of Covid-19 infections has increased slightly in Suriname over the past month. Furthermore, there are also cases of influenza that are common around this time, but the distinction between influenza and Covid-19 can only be made through a Covid-19 test.
The flu comes in several variations and with the increase in the number of Covid-19 infections, it is highly recommended that you start swabs if you have the symptoms and / or signs of the flu. Only by testing do you know what it really is.
Symptoms and / or signs:
- Fever (at least 37.5 ° C) with no apparent change in focus (or feverish sensation)
- Cough
- Loss of taste or smell
- Muscle or muscle pain with no other apparent cause
- Diarrhea or vomiting
- Nausea
- Fatigue
- Cold chills
- shortness of breath
- Sore throat
- Confusion
- Headache (relatively often retro-orbital)
- A runny nose
A swab test can be done daily at the BOG and Tropclinic swab stations. The BOG buffer unit is open 7 days a week from 08:00 to 17:00. Tropclinic is open Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 14:00.
We must remain vigilant, as the virus still poses a threat to your health. That is why it is important to vaccinate in order to prevent or minimize the complications of a possible infection. You can visit the BOG every day where the Sinopharm vaccine is available. Work is currently underway to increase vaccination stocks.
The Ministry of Health draws attention to MOHANA measures as much as possible: wear a mouth mask, keep a distance of 1.5 meters and observe hand hygiene.
