The goal is to treat people with albinism who have skin cancer and black spots. The anomaly is due to excessive exposure to the sun and a permanent lack of maintenance of the skin.
The campaign is organized for a month by the Johny Chancel Association for Albinos (AJCA), with the support of partners such as the company Green Service, represented by Sara-Della Corte. It was officially launched by the administrator mayor of district 4, Moungali, Bernard Batantou. The service will be provided by foreign doctors from Mali. Indeed, he deplored the stigmatization that albinos live in society, adding that the association will benefit from his support in order to break the multiple considerations with regard to these people.
The representative of the company Green Service, Sara-Della Corte, expressed her willingness to support the actions of the clinic. The presence of foreign doctors in Congo, she explains, is an extension of the collaboration with the clinic in order to improve the living conditions of this vulnerable layer.
The president of the AJCA, Johny Chancel Ngamouana, underlined on this occasion the importance of this operation in favor of albinos. ” Skin cancer is the leading killer ofare albinos. To this end, they are invited to come for free treatment. The activities organized by those in charge of people living with disabilities consist of supporting the actions of the government, which cannot do everything on its own ”, did he declare.
He invited people of goodwill to come and make their contribution to allow the clinic to always have products available for real care.
During this ceremony, kits, including ultra-violet glasses, caps, skin creams and calendars, were distributed to albinos.
Asked by journalists, Dr Gassama Mamadou, a Malian dermatologist, said their job is to look at cancerous lesions in order to remove them. “The material is available to carry out this campaign. The consultations that will be carried out may perhaps direct some patients to other services ”, he clarified, adding that he will be at the height of his work because he is not at his first initiative.
