The public health team fighting against the pandemic will lose one of its players.
The Dr Richard Massé, who supports the national director of public health, Dr Horacio Arruda, will leave office on Friday.
Current strategic medical adviser to the general public health directorate of the Quebec Ministry of Health and Social Services (MSSS), Dr Massé thus renounces his functions.
Radio-Canada said on Wednesday that the Dr Massé has health problems, information that the MSSS did not want to confirm to the QMI Agency on Wednesday.
“The mandate of Dr Richard Massé as strategic medical advisor to Dr Arruda as part of the pandemic will effectively end in late August. He had been in the MSSS since March 2020 and now wishes to devote himself to certain files, in particular with the Nunavik RSSS, ”said Marie-Claude Lacasse, coordinator of media relations at the MSSS by email.
This is the Dre Marie-France Raynault, spouse of Dr Massé, who will replace him in his duties.
