Libreville, Thursday February 8, 2024 (Infos Gabon) – The announcement was made yesterday by the President of the Republic, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, during the Council of Ministers.
In order to further secure public finances, the government meeting yesterday in the Council of Ministers around the President of the Republic, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, decided to create several budgetary control units. These will be responsible for strengthening transparency and efficiency in the management of public funds. They will thus be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the use of State resources by their managers and being able to identify possible irregularities and failures in management.
Through this initiative, the Transitional authorities plan to strengthen good governance and transparent management of public finances. This measure comes at a time when a delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is completing a mission to Gabon on a note marked by recommendations in the direction of sound and effective management of public finances.
