Today is possible in Royal Theater Carré in Amsterdam goodbye are taken from crime reporter Peter R. de Vries. The public is welcome in the theater from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tomorrow at 11 am, friends, family and others who knew the murdered crime reporter personally will say goodbye in private.
“I find every farewell a challenge, especially now that the whole of the Netherlands sympathizes and the massive with the intimate is combined,” said Hans Bleijerveld, director of Special Funerals at Monuta, in the radio program. News and Co. Bleijerveld organizes both meetings. He says that safety is “guaranteed to the maximum”, but cannot say anything about specific measures.
“It is the wish of the family and partner of Peter R. de Vries that everyone for whom Peter has meant something, is given the opportunity to say a final greeting,” RTL writes in a press release. Because large crowds are expected, everyone is requested to keep the farewell as short as possible, so that as many people as possible can attend.
Donation Golden Tip
The family asks people to make a donation to the Golden Tip Foundation instead of bringing flowers. The fundraising campaign for the golden tip in the disappearance case Tanja Groen was set up by De Vries.
The director further said that a project group has been formed together with the municipality, the police, RTL, the GGD and Carré to ensure that the farewell can be as dignified as possible. People who want to come by do not have to show a negative corona test or vaccination proof, but are asked to keep one and a half meters away from each other.
Bleijerveld says that interested parties will not be sent home if they are actually too late. “Even if there is still a line at 8 p.m., we still want to give those people the opportunity to say goodbye.”
