Krafton Inc. announced this Friday, 19th, that update 27.2 of PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, including the new RONDO Market, which arrived on PC last week. To the full update notes are already available with all the changes in 27.2, but here we want to delve deeper into some specific points of how the Market works, as it is a very important resource with several particularities capable of changing the course of a match. Welcome to Rondo Market!
The new Rondo Market transforms every trip to the battlefield by allowing players to purchase weapons and equipment with BR Coins, a new in-game feature. Instead of searching corners and depending on luck to find their favorite weapons, players have several purchasing options and can define the best tactic for the moment, giving survivors the opportunity to obtain vital tools to win. Collect BR Coins, make your purchases and build your way to victory.
Find the path to fortune!
The first step in PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS is to earn BR Coins. If you’re lucky you can find them through the regular loot that appears in the world, but that alone may not be enough, so there are other methods:
- Completing in-game challenges
- When players start on the starting island, three random challenges are displayed on the left part of the map, offering accessories, equipment or BR Coins as rewards. If the player is not interested in these tasks, they can exchange them for other challenges, a limited number of times.
- Some of the available challenges are:
- Destroy two vehicle tires
- Loot a smoke grenade
- Use 5 bandages
- Selling your inventory items on the Market
- Found an item in the Market, but don’t have enough Coins? You can sell some things from your inventory for BR Coins and get what you really need in combat. Items that can be exchanged for BR Coins are indicated in the top left corner.
- If you open any of RONDO’s safes, the Gold Bars you find can be exchanged for 1000 BR Coins.
- Make sure you only sell what you won’t use, as it is not possible to buy back items sold to the Market.
- Defeat Pillar Guards
- There are three Market levels, with the largest and most elaborate offering the highest quality items. But don’t think you’ll grab these quality goods so easily. First of all, it is necessary to defeat the Pillar Guard patrols.
- These villains will impose an extra level of difficulty to access the Market. On the other hand, they provide BR Coins when defeated, guaranteeing more resources to be spent.
- Defeating enemies
- Just like Pillar Guards, players will also drop their BR Coins when they are killed. Even if you’re empty-handed, a profitable search may be all it takes to get your favorite weapon.
And most importantly, BR Coins do not accumulate between your trips to Rondo. If you have the opportunity to spend them, take advantage!
Go shopping!
Once the player PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS have enough coins, it’s time to go to the Market. Each of them is marked on the map, with icons indicating the type: Grade I, Grade II and Grade III (some Grade I markets may have a Garage attached, marked accordingly). The math is simple, the higher the level, the better the items available.
There are no limits to the number of times you can access a particular Market, but just like your favorite candy store, supplies are limited. It’s worth taking the time to shop, as Update 27.2 also introduces some useful new gear.
In addition to the new weapons, accessories and items you already know and love, here are some of the new features that can be acquired.
- Combat Readiness Kit: When used, completely fills health and energy bars after 8 seconds.
- New Vehicle – Pillar UAZ: If you find a Grade I Market with a Garage, you can purchase the exclusive Pillar UAZ vehicle, which features bulletproof windows, durable tires and a trunk. Passengers can’t shoot from inside the car, but it’s an interesting trade-off for most teams looking to survive in Rondo.
- Emergency Coverage Beacon: A throwable that provides good defense, the Emergency Cover Beacon emits red smoke that activates the delivery of three concrete blocks. These structures are heavy enough to break bamboo and wooden fences, and can hit players in the landing area. Careful!
Markets offer a new element of gameplay and strategies in PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS unique in Rondo. Players can now develop their tactics by securing their favorite items, an advantage balanced by the new destinations and objectives that will be contested. Consider an ambush around the Market, making a purchase in the early moments before supplies run out (depriving other players of getting good items) and carrying some extra scopes to sell later.
