Something is happening in this small village – where the number of white crows exceeds the number of pubs (the number of pubs is zero anyway) – in the community center that also houses the local government. According to the news, the traditional quiz afternoons will be replaced by “pub water” from February – an event where both knowledge and humor will be found.
Alexandra Müller, the person responsible for the settlement’s cultural programs, is now taking on a new role: she will be the hostess of the edgy and unconventional mind tournament.
– In the beginning, we only held the usual quizzes, – says Alexandra Müller, the organizer of the events, – but then we realized that if we add a hint of pub atmosphere, the quiz will be much more exciting!
Kocsmakvíz: The Úrhida version
“How come there is no pub on Úrhida? Take my beer!” said the organizers, who plan to organize the event in the community center, next to the municipal offices. Perhaps the biggest risk here is that the mayor also takes a peek at a quiz question. Since the building and the room are not really equipped with pub paraphernalia, the participants of the game bring the drinks and snacks, thus creating the atmosphere of a batyus party and a pub.
You don’t have to be afraid of the game’s questions either. As Alexandra revealed, the topics will be on a wide spectrum: from pub history to biology to sports. Perhaps the most difficult puzzle will be which snack to open first? We don’t know, because Alexandra keeps the details of the game as if they were the 2024 graduation questions.
Knowledge, humor and a drop of Urhida spirit
Kocsmakvíz debuts as a real community event in Úrhida on the evening of February 2, where laughter and knowledge both play their part. Because here, not only knowledge matters, but also how much humor the participant has. The organizers revealed that, in addition to the watchful eye of the head of the settlement, a bottle of wine will also support the performance and mood of the teams.
Since the competition is only real if there is something to fight for, the team that finishes in the top three will certainly not go home empty-handed. The prizes are also shrouded in obscurity, but that only makes the challenge even more enticing.
