Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Electability of the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia Mrs. Maharani as a presidential candidate or presidential candidate in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres) decreased even though billboards “Flap the Wings of Diversity” were spread in a number of areas and went viral on social media. This was revealed through a survey of Indonesian Political Indicators on 30 July-4 August.
Executive Director of Indonesian Political Indicators Burhanuddin Muhtadi said Puan’s electability was at 0.4 percent. In April, Puan’s electability was 1.1 percent.
“Miss Puan the trend is down, this is also interesting. In fact, the survey was carried out after the polemic of billboards and banners were installed everywhere,” said Burhanuddin in an online survey release, Wednesday (25/8).
At the same time, Puan’s popularity has increased slightly. Puan’s popularity rate in April 2021 is 50 percent. Currently, Puan’s popularity reaches 60 percent.
Burhanuddin believes that Puan’s billboards are not able to have a positive impact on her. He said the chairman of the PDIP DPP is getting more popular, but the level of public preference has actually decreased.
“This is Mbak Puan’s input to be more penetrative or maybe we should use a better message,” he said.
A different fate was experienced by politicians who also put up their billboards in a number of areas, namely the General Chair of the Golkar Party, Airlangga Hartarto. Airlangga’s electability increased from 0.2 percent to 1.1 percent.
Airlangga’s popularity has also been boosted by various billboards promoting the presidential candidate for 2024. Airlangga’s level of fame has increased from 25 percent to 33 percent in the last four months.
“If I conclude, the effect of this banner is not uniform, it is not uniform. For the Airlangga case, there is a positive effect for Airlangga,” said Burhanuddin.
This survey was conducted by Indonesian Political Indicators involving 1,220 respondents. The survey was conducted with an error tolerance of approximately 2.9 percent and a confidence level of 95 percent.
