Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Director of Indonesian Political Parameters Adi Prayitno suspects the promotion of the Chairman of the DPR who is also the Chairman of the DPP PDIP Mrs. Maharani via billboard or billboard and billboards to lock rations presidential candidate PDIP.
“The billboard actually wants to lock, lock, so that there is no longer talk that the 2024 presidential candidate from PDIP is Ganjar Pranowo,” he said, to reporters, Tuesday (3/8).
“So massive billboards are everywhere, then installed by all PDIP members, they are locks that were deliberately installed to lock public votes,” he continued.
“That there is no more discussion about the 2024 presidential candidate besides Puan, the PDIP presidential candidate, Mrs. And that is very real and clear,” he added.
Adi also assessed that the billboard installation was effective enough to close Ganjar’s opportunities within PDIP.
“This means that the party’s political work is working for Puan, not for Ganjar, because Ganjar’s billboards don’t appear. Internally it is powerful enough to close the room for discussion about Ganjar who will step forward from PDIP. It doesn’t exist anymore,” he said.
However, Adi said that Puan’s promotion could not necessarily boost her electability as a presidential or vice-presidential candidate. The reason is, promotion through visual media only means popularity, has not yet entered the stage of electability.
“In politics, popularity cannot be automatically converted into electability. Popular people are not necessarily and automatically elected, there is still further PR,” he explained.
He also questioned Puan’s political work that could directly touch the community, especially regarding the Covid-19 pandemic.
“So after the billboards appeared, they should be accompanied by real political work, especially during this kind of pandemic,” explained Adi.
From a number of survey results, the electability level of Megawati Soekarnoputri’s daughter is still low. For example, the results of the Saiful Mujani Research and Consulting (SMRC) survey on April 1 stated that Puan’s electability rate was still at 1.7 percent.
Then, from the results of the Charta Politica survey on March 29, Puan’s electability rate was 1.2 percent. In fact, the results of the Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI) on February 22 stated that Puan’s electability rate was at 0.1 percent.

The PDIP’s internal turbulence had occurred some time ago. The reason is that the PDIP cadre who is also the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, was not invited to the agenda attended by Puan in Central Java.
Ganjar’s name is widely promoted as one of the presidential candidates that will be promoted by PDIP. Moreover, Ganjar’s electability and popularity is far above the daughter of General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri.
Regarding the rumors of the competition, Ganjar once said he really respected Puan for her great service in making her the Governor of Central Java in 2013.
“Mbak Puan was actually the combat commander. I never forgot, I didn’t have the capital at that time. So the party at that time moved so I won. This is my way of respecting Mbak Puan,” he admitted some time ago.
