Puan says the PDI-P has its own presidential candidate, who will soon be declared

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – President of the DPP POI-P Puan Maharani said the party with the bull symbol already had a presidential candidate (candidate) to nominate Presidential elections 2024.

However, he did not disclose the figure of the presidential candidate and the exact time of the declaration.

“As soon as (it is declared), everyone is nervous waiting for PDI-P candidates. As soon as possible, and PDI-P has a candidate (president),” Puan said when meeting at Kota Kasablanka Mall, South Jakarta , Saturday (17/12/2022).

According to Puan, the presidential candidate declaration will be held in 2023. The daughter of PDI-P chairman Megawati Soekarnoputri said her party would declare a presidential candidate at the right time.

“Best date, month, time for PDI-P (presidency) candidate. We’ll wait for next year,” he said.

“It must be next year, if not, 2024,” he added.

It is known that the PDI-P has yet to announce its political steps ahead of the 2024 election.

As the only political party (political party) that meets the presidential nomination threshold, the Banteng Party can bring in its own presidential candidates and cawapres without forming coalitions with other political parties.

So far, Puan and the governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, have been touted as strong figures Presidential candidate PDI-P.

However, Megawati has yet to announce the figure it has chosen to compete for the RI-1 seat.
