President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) admitted that he was invited by the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia as well as the Chairperson of the PDIP Megawati Soekarnoputri to the inauguration ceremony of the At-Taufiq Mosque several months ago. Jokowi then reminded again by the Chairman of the DPR Madam Maharani to attend the event two months ago.
“It’s been 3 months ago that I made an appointment with Mrs. Megawati Soekarnoputri to be here. Then two months ago, Mrs. Puan Maharani was reminded again,” Jokowi said when delivering his remarks at the inauguration of the At-Taufiq Mosque in Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta, Wednesday ( 8/6/2022).
Mrs. reminded again Jokowi to attend the inauguration ceremony of the At-Taufiq Mosque last weekend. At that time Jokowi and Puan met in Ancol.
“Last Sunday in Ancol, Mrs. Puan Maharani was reminded again,” said Jokowi.
Jokowi said his presence at the At-Taufiq Mosque was to commemorate the services of the late Taufiq Kiemas, who played a major role in the history of Indonesian politics. Jokowi called Taufiq Kiemas a religious nationalist figure.
“He is a religious nationalist figure. He grew up from a religiously devout family and at the same time with very strong nationalism,” said Jokowi.
