TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Speaker of the Indonesian Parliament, Puan Maharani, revealed that she discussed the political party coalition map during a meeting with President Joko Widodo or Jokowi last Friday. Puan said his meeting with Jokowi was carried out in his capacity as Chair of the Indonesian Parliament and as Chair of the PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) DPP.
In his capacity as Chairman of the PDIP DPP, Mrs. Empress delivered a number of important and strategic matters related to winning the 2024 Election.
“And how to respond to the current political dynamics, including the description of political party cooperation,” Puan said in a statement, Saturday, March 25, 2023.
Puan said she and Jokowi were cadres PDIP. So, they should work together in making political decisions for the well-being of the people.
In her capacity as Chair of the DPR, Puan encourages cooperation between the executive and the legislature in implementation 2024 election. The daughter of Megawati Soekarnoputri said that cooperation between the legislature and the executive is very important because it is related to the implementation of the legislative, budgetary and supervisory functions, as well as solving various national problems.
“Such as preparations for the 2024 elections, several important law plans to be discussed jointly between the DPR and the government, as well as regarding future designs,” said Puan.
Previously, Jokowi met PDIP chairman Megawati Soekarnoputri. This meeting was held at the State Palace on Saturday, 18 March 2023 and lasted for three hours.
When asked whether the contents of the meeting discussed the presidential candidate from the PDIP, Jokowi confirmed. “Yes, that’s roughly about 2024,” Jokowi said when met in Central Jakarta, Monday, March 20, 2023.
Meanwhile, when asked about the name of the presidential candidate from the PDIP that was discussed at the meeting, Jokowi refused to answer. He asked the media crew to ask Megawati directly.
Jokowi calling himself only gives a view from the side of the numbers. “What is clear is that I am providing views from the numbers we have and from the data we have,” Jokowi said.
