Puan Maharani Gives Advice to Gibran Rakabuming After Meeting with Prabowo Subianto

Wali Kota Solo Gibran Rakabuming Raka admitted that he received advice from the Speaker of the DPR, Puan Maharani, following a meeting with the Chairperson of the Gerindra Party Prabowo Subianto.

He said this after accompanying Puan to visit Solo Paragon Mall, which was followed by dinner at Bestik Pak Darno, Saturday (27/5).

Apart from that, the two of them watched the Dewa Concert which would soon take place at the UMS Edutorium.

Puan’s visit was carried out a week after Gibran invited his volunteers to meet with Prabowo Subianto, who is a presidential candidate supported by the Gerindra Party.

As a result of that meeting, Gibran, who is a PDIP cadre, was summoned by the PDIP DPP.

“Ada [wejangan dari Puan], [isinya] confidential. Yes almost the same [dengan pesan dari Sekjen PDIP Hasto Kristiyanto],” said Gabriel.

A number of observers also considered that Gibran’s meeting with Prabowo caused internal turmoil within the PDIP. Bearing in mind, the meeting took place after the PDI-P appointed Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo as a presidential candidate from Banteng.

Gibran also admitted that his meeting with Prabowo was also the subject of discussion with Puan.

“Can [membahas pertemuan dengan Prabowo]. It was yesterday with the Secretary General [Hasto] already clear, with DPP [PDIP] already clear, this is with Ms. Puan come I came here myself, it’s all clear,” he said.

Meanwhile, Puan did not answer when the media crew asked about her discussion with Gibran regarding the meeting with Prabowo.

“Yes, ask Mr Wali [Gibran]how was the meeting with Mas Prabowo,” he explained.

“It’s okay, Ma’am,” said Gibran briefly.

When asked for comments about the views of observers regarding the internal turmoil resulting from the meeting, Puan again threw questions from the media crew at Gibran.

“Try asking Mas Wali. You met with Mas Wali. Mas Gibran met Pak Prabowo,” he said.

Puan admitted that her visit was to spend the weekend. There was no official agenda during Puan’s visit to Solo this time.

After dinner and watching a concert with Gibran tonight, Puan is scheduled to take a walk at Slamet Riyadi’s Car Free Day and Solo Safari Zoo, Sunday (28/5) tomorrow.

“You usually come here for official business, the business is complicated. I don’t want to get complicated. I want to relax with Mas Wali,” said Puan.

However, Puan did not deny that her visit was still politically charged. Apart from establishing political communication, his meeting with Gibran wanted to show that PDIP remained solid.

“The political agenda is that I came here with Mas Wali, what does that mean? It means yes together,” he said.
