PT Technology Military Indonesia (PT TMI) has spoken out about their involvement in the plan Ministry of Defence buy defense equipment valued at US$124.99 billion or Rp. 1.7 quadrillion.
Through a statement submitted by the Corporate Secretary of PT TMI Wicaksono Adi, they said they had not received a single contract from the Ministry of Defense regarding the procurement plan.
“PT TMI is not assigned to purchase or procurement by the Ministry of Defense,” he said in a statement issued in Jakarta, Tuesday (1/6).
As information, the alleged involvement of PT TMI in the spending on defense equipment worth US$124.99 billion or equivalent to Rp. 1.7 quadrillion is known to the public from the leaked draft Presidential Regulation.
Simultaneously, a letter from the Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto was published containing the appointment of PT TMI to manage the program.
For the record, PT TMI is a company formed by the Defense Resources Potential Development Foundation. It used to be the Education and Housing Welfare Foundation under the Ministry of Defence.
PT TMI said Wicaksono was formed as a forum for advanced technology defense equipment experts, electronics experts, and technocrats of the nation’s children who study and transfer technology (ToT) in the process of finding the best defense equipment.
In its function, PT TMI plays a role in analyzing and providing input to parties in need, be it government, education or the private sector.
“PT TMI’s vision is to realize a ToT that is weighty, really quality in terms of technology and technicality. ” he said.
