PT Pupuk Indonesia through its subsidiary PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja (Pusri) is ready to build the Pusri IIIB factory in Palembang next month. This was conveyed by the Main Director of Pusri, Tri Wahyudi Saleh at The Langham Hotel, South Jakarta, Friday (13/10/2023).
For information, the construction of the Pusri IIIB factory is included in the revitalization project for factories that are old and inefficient in their energy use. Apart from that, Pupuk Indonesia also ensures that the factory remains safe and environmentally friendly.
“The presence of the Pusri-IIIB Factory is our commitment to maintain the availability of fertilizer in all Pusri fertilizer distribution areas and as support in maintaining the sustainability of a reliable and competitive industry to achieve national food security,” said Tri at the signing of the Credit Funding Agreement and Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) for the Pusri IIIB Project at The Langham Hotel, South Jakarta.
He revealed that this factory will have a groundbreaking in November 2023. Meanwhile, the total value of Investment Credit (KI) disbursed for the construction of this factory is IDR 9.317 trillion and the project value is US$ 670 billion or IDR 10.52 trillion.
“Then, God willing, the groundbreaking will be in November and until now PT Pusri Palembang has received a gas supply guarantee from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources until 2035,” he explained
This factory, which is more than 40 years old, will be built in the same location as the Pusri III and IV factories which are still operating today. Tri also has plans for the two factories to be in the process of awaiting construction next year.
Apart from that, the production capacity of the Pusri IIIB Factory has also increased. Tri explained that the production capacity of this factory is planned at 1,350 tons of ammonia per day or 445,500 tons per year. Meanwhile, urea fertilizer reaches 2,750 tons per day or 907,500 tons per year.
In terms of energy use, the Pusri IIIB Factory is more efficient because the energy ratio for producing urea is 21.97 MMBTU/ton and ammonia 32.89 MMBTU/ton.
“Almost 1 trillion in efficiency per year. This is quite helpful for our situation in the future,” he added.
