The car made by PT Pindad, Maung, is planned to be sold to the public. The civilian version of the Pindad car has even been displayed on the social media of one of the luxury car dealers, Prestige Image Motorcars.
However, PT Pindad clarified that currently they are only focusing on the military version of Maung. This is because orders from the Ministry of Defense are overflowing.
“For now we are still focused on fulfilling the military version of Maung’s order from the Ministry of Defense, because there are currently quite a lot of orders from the Minister of Defense,” said Deputy Main Director of PT Pindad Syaifuddin in his statement to detikOto, Wednesday (24/1/2024).
Syaifuddin said that in the future PT Pindad plans to produce a commercial version of Maung for public sale. In fact, PIndad also opens up opportunities for collaboration with dealers for car sales.
“In the future, PT Pindad plans to produce a commercial version of Maung for public sale in addition to the military version which is currently running. PT Pindad is also opening up opportunities with various parties to collaborate on the marketing and sales of commercial type Maung to the public in the future,” said Syaifuddin.
Previously, luxury car dealer Prestige Image Motorcars’ social media uploaded a civilian version of Maung. The civilian version of the Maung car made by Pindad is planned to be sold by one of the luxury dealers in the North Jakarta area, Prestige Image Motorcars.

Confirmed, President Director of Prestige Image Motorcars Rudy Salim also mentioned plans to sell Maung’s car. However, this car has not yet finished production.
“The plan is to sell it. But not now, because production has not yet finished,” said Rudy to detikOto, Tuesday (23/1/2024).
