Pertamina Reveals New Fuel Name: Pertamax Green 95
Jakarta – PT Pertamina (Persero) has finally revealed the name of its new type of fuel. The name, BBM, was unveiled through several social media uploads featuring a photo of a gas station along with the new fuel’s name.
The new fuel is called Pertamax Green 95, as confirmed by Fadjar Djoko Santoso, Pertamina’s VP of Corporate Communication. “Yes (true),” he said to detikcom on Sunday (25/6/2023).
However, Fadjar mentioned that the new fuel product has not yet been sold. “Not yet, it looks like it’s for launching preparations,” he added.
Irto Ginting, Corporate Secretary of Pertamina Patra Niaga, also stated that there have been no sales for Pertamina’s new products. When asked about the new BBM name, he said it had not been officially launched. “We haven’t launched it officially yet,” he confirmed.
The product to be launched by Pertamina is Pertamax, which is mixed with 5% ethanol. This fuel has a high octane rating of 95.
Previously, Dadan Kusdiana, the Director General of New, Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (EBTKE) at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, announced that Pertamina’s new product would be launched in early July. Dadan Kusdiana explained that the program had been running since 2008 but was halted due to economic problems.
“Now, because the President asked for the Presidential Decree to be implemented, it has been signed. Hopefully, in early July, we can implement it in a limited area,” he said at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources in Jakarta on Monday (19/6).
The official launch of Pertamax Green 95 is eagerly awaited by consumers, as it promises a more environmentally friendly and efficient fuel option.
