REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — PT BFI Finance Indonesia (BFIN) is starting to enter the electric vehicle segment. The company has prepared financing schemes for five electric motorcycle brands.
The five brands include Smoot, Volta, Alva, Selis and United. The five were chosen because they are domestic production. The five brands are also considered to already have their own factories in the country.
“Actually a lot of products electric motor others, but we don’t know whether the manufacturer will survive or not,” explained Finance Director of BFI Finance Sudjono to journalists in Jakarta, Thursday (7/9/2023).
It’s just that, he said, currently the distribution of financing to electric motorbikes has not really been carried out. Even so, he continued, the company had prepared if the market later electric vehicle in the country is growing rapidly.
“So that when there is migration from fossil vehicle towards electricity, we are ready,” he stressed.
Later, said Sudjono, the process of financing electric motorbikes could be served easily. One of them is an affordable down payment or down payment and an installment tenor that can be chosen according to the ability of consumers.
“For a down payment starting from IDR 1.5 million and the tenor or length of installments can be chosen from one year to a maximum of three years. We leave it to the consumers themselves,” he said.
Sudjono also could not mention the total target for electric motorcycle financing, because the company feels it is new to this segment. For him, BFI Finance’s goal is not a matter of financing growth targets but of volume.
“Because in terms of volume, it hasn’t had a big impact on BFI Finance’s revenue. But it’s the ecosystem at BFI itself,” he explained.
