Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – PT BFI Finance Indonesia Tbk (BFIN) opened its voice regarding BFI Multifinance’s payment services which have been disrupted since Sunday (21/5/2023) until now, Wednesday (24/5/2023).
Quoting the information disclosure on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), management informed that on May 21, 2023, the company had experienced a cyber attack.
As an anticipation, the company’s BFIN did temporary switch off several main systems that disrupted service to consumers and some operational activities.
“Until now, there has been no indication of consumer data leaks,” management wrote, Wednesday (24/5).
The company has taken various handling steps according to the handling protocol and continued with efforts to restore services to consumers and the company’s operational activities in stages.
Meanwhile, it is known that the public has complained about not being able to make credit payments at BFI Finance through social media.
“Min, is @BFIFinance still under maintenance? I want to pay installments, how come it can’t?” said a netizen with the username @kimpink0202 on Twitter.
There are also those who ask when BFI Finance payments can be made again. “How long will the problem be that we have a used car showroom submitting an application at the pending BFI so that consumers are afraid to switch to other finances, please clarify,” said a netizen with the username @HendraSutoyo.
In response to this, Dian Ariffahmi, Corporate Communication Head of PT BFI Finance Indonesia Tbk, stated that currently payments can be made through virtual accounts of several banks.
“Consumer payments can already be made through virtual accounts at several leading banks,” said Dian when confirmed by CNBC Indonesia.
Dian added, her party was carrying out system repairs or maintenance. The maintenance carried out is for cleaning and increasing system security.
“So for now it’s us close the system before and today we continue to progress,” he said.
