1. Devalue failure
If you understand that in case of failure, there will be no special catastrophe, the level of anxiety will decrease, and things will go better.
2. Don’t strain where you don’t have to.
Sometimes the “heavy, bestial zeal” of a task can be draining, clouding your mind to make good decisions, and scaring and alienating those around you who might be able to help you.
3. Treat goal achievement as a game
It’s nice to win a game of chess against a friend, but there will be no tragedy if you lose.
4. Try the Paradoxical Intention Technique
This means that when you want to get one result, do your best to get the opposite. It sounds strange, but, according to the psychologist, it works.
For example, you want to fall asleep, but you can’t. Set yourself the task of staying awake until the morning, and if your eyes suddenly start to stick together, resist it in every possible way.
Or another example: you blush when talking to strangers, but you really don’t want to. Then initially concentrate on this and make every effort to blush. As the expert assures, in this case, you are unlikely to succeed.
“In general, do not be too serious, take life lighter, and it will be favorable to you,” the expert concluded.
