TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has shared his take on the release of Sony’s PlayStation VR2 via Twitter. The VR headset is currently a hot topic and could just be in the spotlight a little more next Thursday during the State of Play. According to Kuo, the headset could be released in the first quarter of 2023.
This mainly has to do with the fact whether the production of the headset is going well and whether the launch games are ready for release. Assembly of the VR headset should start in the second half of 2022, after which the PSVR 2 can start shipping and possibly go on sale in early 2023.
Sony previously announced that more than twenty titles should be available at the launch of the VR headset.

My latest supply chain check suggests that the assembler and several component providers of PS VR2 will start mass production with about 1.5M units shipments in 2H22. Sony may launch it in 1Q23, depending on the development schedule of PS VR2 game titles. pic.twitter.com/NIqFgg4Kjl— Ming-Chi Kuo (@mingchikuo) May 30, 2022
