PSV is still waiting for a busy week in the transfer area, Rik Elfrink of the Eindhovens Dagblad predicts. The club watcher does not rule out the possibility that players will leave and be added in all lines. The situation around Johan Bakayoko in particular will be interesting to keep an eye on.
It is quite possible that Bakayoko will leave PSV in the coming days. Only Burnley has so far made an attempt to take over the Belgian wing attacker from the Eindhoven team. However, a bid between 20 and 25 million euros was immediately referred to the trash by the people of Eindhoven.
“Fireworks are expected around him in the coming days, with amounts that can also be clearly higher than Burnley’s offer,” writes Elfrink. The presence of manager Vincent Kompany may be a reason for Bakayoko to eventually opt for Burnley if the Clarets increase their offer.
Anwar El Ghazi and Yorbe Vertessen are also in the interest of several clubs, although it is not yet clear whether they will leave. PSV also wants to be able to get a replacement for them when they leave. This also applies to Joël Drommel, who has to settle for a role as second goalkeeper under trainer Peter Bosz.
Finally, PSV is still taking into account an outgoing transfer from Ibrahim Sangaré. The Ivorian has a clause in his contract, which allows him to leave this summer for 37.5 million euros. With a transfer from Sangaré, PSV still wants to try to take over Aster Vranckx from VfL Wolfsburg. The Belgian international seemed to be on his way to Fiorentina, but that transfer is now in doubt.
Hirving Lozano is in the picture as a replacement for Bakayoko. The attacker wants to leave Napoli after four seasons and can return to PSV for ‘more than ten million euros’. If Sangaré or Bakayoko leave for a lot of money, there may also be an extra central defender.
