Ryan Thomas returned to the field on Saturday at PSV. The midfielder dropped out at the end of last season with an ankle injury and made thirty minutes against VfL Osnabrück.
“It felt very good, it was a long time ago. The recovery has gone well, it’s nice that I was able to make minutes again,” says a relieved Thomas in conversation with the PSV club channel. It was limited to thirty minutes of playing time on Saturday. “It was mainly to make sure my ankle would get enough rest before I started playing again. That’s why I put in thirty minutes. To make the ankle come out better. And it worked, there I am. I’m happy with it.”
When asked if he could bring the same intensity as usual, Thomas responds with a laugh. “Five to ten minutes, then the battery was empty. But that’s normal. I really need another two or three weeks to get fully fit again,” he concludes.
