PSV watcher Marco Timmer expects Walter Benítez to leave Eindhoven this summer. Ronald Waterreus, who played for PSV in the past, would not be surprised if the Eredivisie leader tried to attract an even better goalkeeper. Waterreus helps Earnest Stewart get started.

Benítez’s contract with PSV expires in the summer of 2025. “I think he’s going,” says Timmer Shoot Willy Podcast. “His contract expires in 2025 and if he does not renew, which I can imagine, then PSV will still get money for him. I can imagine that he wants to cash in on his current status and if PSV wants to renew, they will a lot to come.”
Waterreus does not fear Benítez leaving. “I wouldn’t be too surprised if they dare to look for improvement in that position,” says the former goalkeeper. “I don’t mean that he is not good enough, that is of course always the danger with these kinds of statements. If anyone can have a say in looking for improvement in that position, it is me.”

Waterreus then drops the names of Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Matt Turner and VfB Stuttgart goalie Alexander Nübel. “Stewart has a connection with America and if I’m not mistaken, Turner is now under the bar there. He is on the bench somewhere in England. I just mentioned another suggestion, Nübel. PSV already played against him with AS Monaco and He is currently doing very well at Stuttgart. Those are also options.”
