PSV supporters are not welcome at next week’s Champions League game against Paris Saint-Germain in Paris. Fans of the Eindhoven club are also not allowed to travel to the French capital. PSV say the Frenchman’s decision is “completely unexpected”.
The French authorities have opted for the travel ban due to previous disturbances by PSV supporters, he wrote Omroep Brabant. During riots before the Champions League match against RC Lens last October, 24 people were injured injury. PSV was then fined 25,000 euros.
France is afraid that something like this will happen again. PSV have held talks and challenged the travel ban. The club has also proposed other measures. “But much to the club’s disappointment, none of them produced the results they wanted,” writing PSV on club site.
The club says it regrets both the decision and the timing. “All the preparations have already been made and many expenses have been incurred. In addition, the election of Peter Bosz depended on the support of his loyal supporters.”
Refundable tickets
The two thousand supporters who bought a ticket will get a full refund. Additional costs will not be reimbursed.
