PSV is in for a turbulent summer in many respects. The Telegraph outlines a number of headaches for Earnest Stewart and associates. There is one big advantage compared to last summer: the people of Eindhoven have to take fewer risks.

PSV’s starting position is much clearer than last season. At the time, a ‘complicated puzzle with numerous uncertainties’ had to be put together by technical director Stewart. The people of Eindhoven were not sure of the Champions League income and one of the most important vacancies, that of trainer, still had to be filled. Now those points with the top position, Champions League placement and Peter Bosz are no longer a point of discussion. The trainer still has two years left on his contract and has already hinted that PSV could be his last club.
Headache files
However, there are a number of headaches that Stewart will have to tackle next summer. According to The Telegraph Johan doesn’t seem to like Bakayoko. The twenty-year-old attacker is expected to leave Eindhoven with offers of forty to fifty million euros.

The preservation of the ‘golden triangle’, Olivier Boscagli-Jerdy Schouten-Joey Veerman, also seems like a utopia. Boscagli still has one season left on his contract. PSV will have to extend or sell to prevent the Monegasque from leaving on a free transfer in a year’s time. Veerman enjoys a lot of interest, but PSV has been doing everything it can to keep him on board. To date, negotiations about breaking open and upgrading his contract, which runs until 2026, have not been successful. Schouten’s departure is in any case non-negotiable.
Making profit
The Telegraph also speaks of one position where PSV can and hopes to make a profit anyway: right-center in the rear. An departure of André Ramalho is likely. The Brazilian’s contract expires after this season. The Eindhoven team previously made frantic attempts to attract Davinson Sanchez, Thomas Beelen, Zeno Debast (all last summer), Jeremiah St. Juste and Ryan Flamingo (both last winter). The latter two both seem to be targets for the coming transfer window.
In addition to a right central defender, PSV is also looking for a wing attacker. Stewart made this winter according to The Telegraph a poor turn by letting Yorbe Vertessen leave without a replacement. This has been a problem for PSV, partly due to Noa Lang’s susceptibility to injuries. Moreover, Bakayoko seems to be leaving this summer. Couhaib Driouech (Excelsior) and SC Heerenveen striker Osame Sahraoui are in the picture for the vacancy.
