PSV watcher Elfrink is worried: ‘This will be a never-ending story’

Club watcher Rik Elfrink wonders whether Isaac Babadi will ultimately extend his expiring contract with PSV. The people of Eindhoven are still in trouble with the eighteen-year-old top talent. Babadi has been allowed to talk to other clubs since January 1, after which he can make the transfer on a free transfer next summer.
“Babadi is becoming a kind of never-ending story,” says Elfrink in the AD football podcast. “That just drags on. No one really knows which way it will go. His agents are talking about perspective. They want him to play in the main squad of PSV.”
However, according to Elfrink, the people of Eindhoven believe that they have made Babadi a good offer from a financial perspective. “PSV also thinks that Babadi can continue to develop well in Eindhoven. We will have to wait for his decision in the near future.”
The right-footed youth international has been linked to Feyenoord in recent months, but his services have not yet been confirmed. Various foreign clubs are also said to be closely monitoring Babadi’s situation at PSV.
Ramalho
André Ramalho is one of the other players from the PSV selection who has an expiring contract. The Brazilian center back made a mistake in Sunday’s practice match against Hamburger SV (2-2) by receiving an unnecessary red card.
“It could well be that PSV will not renew with him,” Elfrink thinks. “If you saw the match against HSV, that makes sense. At the same time, you shouldn’t underestimate him. He hasn’t done that bad so far this season.”
The club watcher notes that Ramalho has stood up in some big matches and PSV has only conceded six goals in the Eredivisie. “Then you can’t say that things are rattling on all sides or that things have gone so terribly badly for Ramalho. The only match they lost this season, Ramalho was not in the starting line-up. That was against Arsenal, when Armel Bella- Kotchap.”
